Frequently asked questions
What services do you offer?
We specialize in physical therapy and athletic training for active individuals, weekend warriors, and athletes looking to recover from injuries, prevent future issues, and optimize performance. Our services include manual therapy, corrective exercise, movement assessments, injury prevention, and performance training.
Do I need a doctor’s referral for physical therapy?
No! Since we are a cash-based practice, you do not need a doctor’s referral to start treatment. You can book an appointment directly and begin your recovery or performance program right away.
How does a cash-based physical therapy clinic work?
Instead of billing insurance, we offer transparent, upfront pricing for our services. This allows for longer, one-on-one sessions, no restrictions on treatment, and a focus on your unique goals. You may also be able to submit your receipt for out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance.
What is the difference between physical therapy and athletic training?
• Physical therapy focuses on rehabilitation after injuries, surgery, or chronic pain.
• Athletic training is designed for injury prevention, performance enhancement, and return-to-sport programs.
Our clinic offers a blend of both, so whether you’re recovering or striving for peak performance, we’ve got you covered!
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your initial session includes a comprehensive movement assessment to identify weaknesses, mobility restrictions, or muscular imbalances. We then create a customized plan with hands-on treatment and corrective exercises to get you moving better, faster. We start with your treatment the same day as your evaluation to begin making strides toward your goals as quickly as possible.
Do you take insurance?
No, we are a cash-based clinic, meaning we do not bill insurance. However, we provide detailed invoices (superbills) that you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Do you offer packages or memberships?
Yes! We provide discounted packages for multiple sessions, as well as monthly memberships for ongoing maintenance, injury prevention, and performance training.
What types of injuries do you treat?
We treat a variety of conditions, including:
• Sports injuries (ACL tears, sprains, strains, etc.)
• Chronic pain (back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, etc.)
• Post-surgical rehab
-
Vestibular/vertigo rehabilitation
-
Pregnancy/postpartum rehabilitation
• Running & movement inefficiencies
• Injury prevention & performance optimization
Do you offer training sessions?
Yes! We offer sports specific foot drills currently out of Sea Pines for the Tennis Community, but are open to other training ventures as we are highly skilled with Pickleball, Golf, and other sports. These sessions focus on proper warm ups/cool downs, stretching, mobility, strength, foot work, and injury prevention.
How do I book an appointment?
You can easily schedule an appointment online or call us at 843-227-9731.
Where are you located?
We are located inside Restore Hyper Wellness on Hilton Head Island at 11 Marina Side Dr. Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for movement. If we are assessing a specific area (e.g., knee, shoulder), make sure it’s easily accessible.
How can I prevent sports injuries?
Prevention starts with proper movement, strength, and mobility. We offer:
• Injury prevention screenings to identify risk factors
-
Proper stretching and manual therapy to reduce tightness, tension, and weak tissue to improve functional mechanics
• Strength and conditioning programs to address weak areas
• Biomechanics coaching for running, jumping, and lifting
• Preseason and in-season maintenance programs
Can you help me get back to my sport after an injury?
Yes! Our Return-to-Sport programs bridge the gap between rehab and full athletic performance. We focus on:
• Sport-specific drills, stability, and conditioning
• Explosiveness and agility training
• Confidence-building exercises to reduce fear of re-injury
What types of treatments do you use?
Our approach includes:
• Hands-on manual therapy (joint mobilization, myofascial release)
• Strength & mobility training (custom exercise programming)
• Neuromuscular re-education (correcting faulty movement patterns by targeting stabilizing musculature)
• Dry needling or cupping
• Sport-specific rehab and return-to-play training
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the severity of your injury and your goals. Many patients see improvement in 3-5 visits, while more complex injuries or post-surgical cases may require a progressive treatment plan over several weeks.
