Muscle Energy
This joint manipulation technique utilizes your own muscles to adjust the joints and improve alignment, improves blood flow to specific joints, and relieves pain.

How Muscle Energy Works
The Muscle Energy Technique (MET) is a form of manual therapy where the practitioner uses the patient’s muscle contractions to facilitate a series of precise joint adjustments. The technique involves the patient actively contracting a muscle against a controlled resistance provided by the practitioner. This contraction is followed by a relaxation phase, allowing the joint to move into a more optimal position.
Through repeated cycles of contraction and relaxation, the technique aims to:

-
Realign Joints: Muscle Energy targets misaligned joints or restricted areas in the body, helping to restore normal function and range of motion.
-
Increase Blood Flow: By engaging the muscles around a joint, MET promotes better circulation to the area, improving oxygenation and nutrient delivery, which aids in healing and reducing inflammation.
-
Relieve Pain: Muscle Energy helps to relieve joint and muscle pain by encouraging natural realignment of the musculoskeletal system and reducing muscle tension.
-
Restore Flexibility and Mobility: MET improves the flexibility of muscles and joints by gradually increasing the range of motion, which is beneficial for those with chronic stiffness or post-injury restrictions.
